It's been a long time...Updates

So, I have been missing in action for a long time.  Life and personal issues have definitely gotten in the way of updating my blog, but I am back and ready to plunge right back in.

Natural hair:  Alright as of now, I am still chemical free, but I am in braids and sew ins constantly.  I would love to get to the point of wearing my hair out, but I have not grown it out to the length that I am comfortable with yet.   At some point, I will do a "big reveal" and share some pictures of my hair, and the progress I have made.  I am happy with my hair, but it grows faster in the back then it does in the back so I currently look like this:
In the words of Tamar Braxton, that aint hot!  So guys until I get past this stage, my hair will be in braids.

Will I stay natural??  This is a question that I fight with all the time but, I have decided to not put anymore chemicals on my hair but I do not knock anyone who does.  I may do some dyes next summer depending on the health of my hair, but no relaxers for me.

My box braid regimen:  I am currently in box braids, and I am kicking it old school with my hair products.  For a daily moisturizer, I use Care Free Curl Gold, and for my scalp, I have started using Sulfur 8.  I know that in the hair community, petroleum is the devil because it blocks your pores, but my hair has reacted to grease in a positive way.  I think the key is to cleanse your hair regularly to prevent build up.  I wash my hair once a week and follow that with a condition.  Notice I didn't say deep condition.  I find it hard to deep condition in braids so I simply don't.  If anyone has any suggestions on how I can without my braids slipping out, let me know.

Since your hair is in braids all the time, what are going to write about?  I'm glad you asked!  I plan on writing about random hair topics and tips.  I will also still blog about my hair even though it's in braids.  Maybe I will share some box braid styles and go further into how I maintain the braids.

Look out for more new posts!  Thanks for reading!
